have more than 20 years experience with desktop publishing.
I have worked with newsletters, newspapers, magazines, books (including
art, tables and figures), brochures, technical and medical manuals,
calendars, web sites and more. I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Journalism
from the University of Colorado and an Associate's Degree in Communication
Technology from the Colorado Institute of Art (now known as the
Art Institute of Colorado). I also write, edit and proof text (in English),
and translate from UK English to US English, as well as format proof (DTP QA) documents. In addition, I edit and design books in all languages for self-publishing on sites such as CreateSpace, as well as for traditional publishing.
fluent in English, speak European French, and am currently learning
Spanish. In the past several years I have focused my work with localization
companies. I work with many languages - western and eastern European,
Cyrillic, Asian single-byte and two-byte, and many more.After
three years working for the software company, Quark, I am an expert
in QuarkXPress, as well as troubleshooting systems and software.
I also am an expert in many other software
programs from Adobe, Corel, Macromedia, Microsoft and more.
I work in both Windows and Macintosh.I have
training experience in the classroom and on-site. I tailor classes
for any group. I also occasionally teach a college level class in layout and design.
I have completed the triple certification in Localization through Chico State - California, GALA, and the Localization Institute in June 2006.
